Best time to visit: Weekday mornings tend to be less crowded, making it ideal for younger kids who might get overwhelmed by too much activity. However, keep in mind that they sometimes close early on weekday evenings for private birthday parties, so always check their current hours before heading out. Weekend visits are busier but offer more opportunities for social play with other kids. The climate-controlled environment makes this a perfect rainy day destination – just expect it to be more packed when the weather's particularly dreary since every Portland parent has the same brilliant idea.
The play structure at The Wiggle Room is perfectly sized for toddlers and preschoolers, with every element chosen to maximize movement and engagement. Open play costs $12.50 per child for full access or $8.50 for wobblers using just the baby area. You'll need to complete a liability waiver (do this online ahead of time to save yourself the hassle), and everyone – kids and adults – must wear socks inside the play area. They have free socks available, but supplies are limited and sizing isn't guaranteed, so bring your own to avoid disappointment.
Parking is available on-site, which is fantastic for this part of town. Use the entrance off 41st Avenue and park in the green-marked area – avoid the yellow section as it's shared with other businesses and you risk getting ticketed. Hours are published weekly on Sundays, so check their website or Google before heading over. Parents must stay and supervise their children during open play; this isn't a drop-off childcare situation.
The venue offers both kid-friendly snacks and adult beverages, including local beers on tap and wine, but you're free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. No outside alcohol is permitted, and party items like decorations are only allowed with a private party reservation.
